Meet Inigo Montoya! Inigo is one of four special kittens whose journey has required patience, understanding, and time. He and his brothers arrived at the shelter very unsocial, fearful, and intolerant of handling. After weeks of thoughtful, consistent work from our staff, the boys showed encouraging progress and continued their development in a foster home.
Inigo Montoya then spent several more weeks with a foster who specializes in kitten socialization. While he remains on the shy and more independent side, his foster has observed meaningful growth. Inigo regularly comes out to interact through play and enjoys observing human activity, though he is still easily startled by loud noises or quick movements and may retreat when feeling unsure. He will need very patient adopters, a calm home without small children, and plenty of time to build trust at his own pace.
Inigo Montoya is the most reserved of the group and is still working on becoming comfortable with close human interaction. He prefers to observe, learn, and follow the lead of his siblings rather than initiate contact himself. Though he is not yet seeking affection, he shows steady progress through play and gentle exposure.
Inigo Montoya shares an important bond with his brother Westley. Wes` confidence and energy help encourage Inigo to explore and engage, while their sibling play builds his confidence in a way humans alone cannot. Their bond is crucial and deeply beneficial to both boys` continued socialization, and they should be adopted together. If you work from home, enjoy a quiet household, and are open to giving an animal the time and patience he truly needs, Inigo Montoya—along with Westley—could be an incredibly rewarding companion. With consistency and compassion, Inigo has the potential to continue growing into a more confident cat at his own pace!
