JOHNNY
Age: 5 years
Sex: Neutered male
Breed: Terrier mix
Color: Beige
Weight: 8.9 kg
Height: 39 cm (at the shoulder)
Johnny was rescued from a city shelter in 2021, and spent nearly four years in a private shelter. Despite waiting so long, Johnny has kept his gentle heart and loving spirit.
Personality
Johnny is an extremely affectionate and people-loving dog. He happily approaches both familiar and new people, rubbing his body against them and inviting touch. He loves both women and men and will willingly go with anyone — but when he chooses “his” person, he shows even more love and devotion.
He is wonderful with children under 13 and can be safely picked up with arms under his belly. Once he feels close to someone, he often rolls over to show his belly for more cuddles.
Dog Social Skills
Johnny gets along with all dogs, but he is not a rough or playful type. He prefers sniffing, walking alongside others, or quietly following them rather than wrestling or chasing.
Even when more energetic dogs push or tease him, Johnny simply stands there gently — he is a very soft-natured boy. He tends to prefer dogs similar in size to himself, but truly, he loves people more than dogs.
Cats
When he sees cats on walks, Johnny stays focused on his handler rather than reacting. Cat testing is available.
Energy Level
Johnny has a low energy level and enjoys resting and staying calm indoors. When he goes outside, his mood lifts and he happily enjoys his walks and fresh air.
Walks
Johnny loves going for walks and is happiest when he’s outside. Sudden movements, loud noises, or parked cars can make him cautious, so he prefers to walk around them rather than react.
He does best in quiet neighborhoods and parks rather than busy streets.
At Home
• No food guarding with people or dogs
• No separation anxiety
• Calm and well-mannered
• Rides quietly in a crate
• Uses pee pads indoors and also goes outside — with regular walks, he is likely to transition fully to outdoor potty
Johnny is a gentle, loving companion who has waited far too long for a family of his own. He will thrive in a home that gives him affection, stability, and the chance to finally belong.
