Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Friendly, Playful, Mischievous
Buttercup is the type of kitty who sees everyone as a friend! When she first came to her foster home, it didn’t take long for Buttercup to make herself right at home. She was comfortable with her foster right away and even when guests are over, she comes up to them as if she’s known them for years!
Buttercup’s sociability isn’t just surface level though - she’s extremely sweet and affectionate at heart. Whenever her foster comes home, she’s always so excited with lots to say, and if you’re sitting down, she won’t hesitate to walk all over you or plop down next to you for cuddles.
Buttercup also loves to eat and play. She’ll attack anything that moves and has been stoked about every toy her foster has given her. Buttercup is pretty much always in the mood to play and is constantly running around the house. She had no problems living with other cats during her time onsite at APA!, so she would probably enjoy having a playful kitty buddy! And about her love of food - she gets vocal when it’s mealtime and is known for trying to steal any food she can get her paws on (yep, even yours)!
Since she makes friends with people so easily, Buttercup would be happy in a home with anyone who will let her love on them. Her forever family should also be okay with her playful, energetic nature, giving her lots of fun toys and space to run around. Buttercup is a big sweetheart with such a happy-go-lucky personality, and anyone would be lucky to have her as their new best friend!
Buttercup has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Buttercup can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
For further information or to meet Buttercup, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
