Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lola is a beautiful 1½-year-old Black Labrador/Border Collie mix weighing about 44 pounds. She’s still very much a young dog and is full of energy, curiosity, and potential. Lola came to us as an owner surrender due to destructive behaviors, which are often a sign of boredom and not having enough outlets for her young active mind and body.
This smart, athletic girl would thrive with an adopter who has the time and commitment to give her structure, exercise, and mental enrichment. With consistency, positive training, and plenty of activity, Lola has all the ingredients to become an amazing companion.
Lola is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed—ready to start her next chapter with a family who understands young, energetic dogs and is excited to help her grow into her best self.

Our adoptable dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworms, are microchipped, have a one year City of Norman pet license, and have received a medical exam.
Our animals are available at our facility on a first come first served basis. While very rare, occasional exceptions are made for livestock and animals receiving significant inquiry due to specific breed demands.
Adoption fee for all animals is $50.00.

More about this shelter
Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
