My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Akira – A Gentle Husky with a Sweet Soul

Akira is a beautiful Husky with a soft, sensitive heart. She can be shy and a bit nervous when meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but with patience and a calm approach, she slowly begins to show her true self. Once Akira feels safe and comfortable, she blossoms into a loving companion who enjoys cuddling and being close to her people.

True to her Husky roots, Akira has that classic independent spirit and expressive personality, along with a love for movement and exploration once she gains confidence. She’ll do best in a quiet, understanding home that can give her time to settle in and build trust at her own pace.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion and are willing to let Akira come out of her shell on her own timeline, you’ll be rewarded with a deeply affectionate and special bond.

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
