My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Banana Muffin! ** In Foster

This sweet young pitbull is looking for her forever home. While she enjoys yard time and cuddles at the shelter, she has been quite timid about going out on walks. Muffin needs an experienced home that will help her build her confidence to go out and explore the world.

Miss Muffin loves every person she meets, but she does not quite have the hang of greeting them politely. She is very treat motivated, and does great with positive reinforcement training. She needs a family that will continue working on her manners with her.

Banana Muffin is awaiting her spay surgery at the SPCA Hospital in Vancouver, so we are looking for adopters in the Lower Mainland at this time.

Do you think you could be Banana Muffin's person? Fill out an application online and we will be in touch with the first suitable adopter.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
