Hi, I'm Pongo! I’m a super-smart, high-energy goofball with a big puppy brain and an even bigger love for playtime. I learn fast and I’m very trainable—I just need someone who’s ready to keep up with my zooms and help me polish my manners. I’m still figuring out gentle play, so I’m not the best fit for a home with kids right now, and I’d do best in a cat-free house (I just have to chase!).

What I am great at? Kisses, taking treats gently, and being polite around food—you can even pet me while I eat. I’m also a champ with house training: no accidents here as long as I get regular potty breaks. I’d love a home with another big, high-energy dog to wrestle and run with, plus humans who are excited to train, play, and help me be my best self. Ready to keep up with me?

Submit Application

Whether you're interested in a specific pet or not, fill out our application online at houstonpetsalive.org.

2.
Meet the Pet

Once your application is approved, a meet and greet will be set up between you and your pet of interest.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If the meet and greet goes well and your adoption application is approved, you will sign the adoption contract.

4.
Pay Fee

Once the adoption contract is signed, you will pay the adoption fee.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Bring your new best friend home! Remember that it will take some time for him/her to adjust to their new environment.
