My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Astrid - a striking Savannah mix with a personality as vibrant as her markings. She's the kind of cat who always has something to say, whether she's chirping for attention, narrating her day, or simply reminding you that she's nearby. True to her breed, Astrid is curious, clever, and wonderfully interactive. She'll follow you from room to room, supervise your tasks with great seriousness, and then happily curl up beside you when it's time to unwind.

Astrid has recently undergone a nasal flush to investigate some ongoing nasal discharge. While we're still waiting on results, there is a possibility she may have a chronic condition that could require occasional management in the future - things like periodic antibiotics or additional nasal flushes to keep her comfortable and protect her nasal turbinates. Aside from this, she's a healthy, active indoor cat who's ready to bring joy, conversation, and companionship into the right home.

If you're looking for a cat with spirit, affection, and a whole lot of character, Astrid may be your perfect match. She's eager for a family who will love her, listen to her stories, and give her the forever home she deserves.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
