My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Daisy is looking for a small family willing to let her do her own thing. She isn't really one to seek attention or love, but she likes knowing it is available. She gets along with everyone, but prefers to not have to put up with too many. A cat or two and a dog, no problem, but not much more than that (though it is negotiable). She prefers older kids that understand she is a queen and deserves her space and respect. She will not be dragged around or handled, she can walk on her own 4 feet. If you think you can give her a good home where she can watch over your family as a queen would her loyal subjects then Daisy wants to hear from you.

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
