Marcie is a 4 year old beautiful brindle Terrier mix who found herself in our Care on January 14th. 2026 as a stray. She was picked up by Gulfport Animal Control with no collar or microchip. Marcie is an active girl who loves to be outside, and she is good with other canine friends. When she first found herself in her care she was very hungry and shy which leads us to believe that she has been on her own for a while. But she is quickly come out of her show with the care of our loving staff. Marcie does know how to sit for treats, and absolutely loves squeaky toys. She`ll even tilt her head back and forth every single time you squeak it. Marcie is heartworm positive by no fault of her own, but don`t let that turn you away from adopting as HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount the treatment for adopters. She`s also looking for heartworm sponsorship to help her find a new forever home. Our shelter has a donation fund called `have a heart` that helps to sponsor the treatment of our heartworm positive shelter dogs. If you would like to donate towards her treatment, you can do so on our website at hssm.org or you can visit us in person. Are you ready to fall in love? Come meet Marcie today!

Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
