My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aloka! This handsome 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix weighs about 42 pounds and carries himself with a calm confidence that immediately draws you in. When we first met him, Aloka was sitting quietly and peacefully in his run, just observing the world with soft eyes and a gentle presence.

Aloka is a happy boy who clearly enjoys life, but he’s not go-go-go all the time. Yes, he has that wonderful Cattle Dog energy and enthusiasm, but he also knows how to settle, relax, and just be. He’s the type who’s ready for an adventure when it’s time to move, then content to chill by your side once the day slows down.

True to the spirit behind his name — inspired by the Peace Dog who walks alongside monks — Aloka has a balanced, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to be around. He’s affectionate, alert, and thoughtful, with a personality that feels both steady and warm.

Aloka would be a great match for someone who appreciates an active dog with an off switch — a companion for walks, play, and exploration, but also for quiet evenings and peaceful moments at home. If you’re looking for a dog who brings both joy and calm into your life, Aloka might just be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
