My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dasher is a handsome house panther. He lives up to his name, full of energy and often zooming around from place to place, attending to important kitty business. He loves to wrestle with his siblings and play with any available toys, including plastic springs and the Turboscratcher.

When his energy runs low, he likes to settle on a lap to snooze. He's a big fan of attention and purrs away when getting pets. Dasher gets along great with all his brothers and sister and would love to be adopted together with one of them. He will do best in a home that isn't too noisy.

Must adopt with any sibling, or as a buddy to another cat.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
