My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Walker: 100 Pounds of Pure Sunshine!

If you’ve been looking for a `big personality,` look no further. Walker is a friendly, outgoing, and incredibly affectionate hound mix who thinks he’s a lap dog, even if he currently takes up the whole lap (and the sofa next to it).

Walker is a solid 100 pounds of love. To be honest, he’s a bit of a `round hound` right now and could stand to lose a few pounds. He’s looking for a walking partner to help him trade those extra cookies for muscle! Walker is a social butterfly; this guy has never met a stranger. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and an optimistic spirit.

We know Walker lived with another dog in his previous home and loved them dearly. While we haven`t had the chance to `dog test` him here in the busy shelter environment yet, he has a history of being a great roommate.

Because he came to us due to sudden changes in his owner`s life, we have limited info on his house manners, but his eager-to-please attitude suggests he’s ready to learn the ropes of your routine.

Walker is looking for someone committed to slow walks and healthy treats, and a home with enough floor (or couch) space for a hundred-pound snooze session. He’s been through a lot of change recently and just wants to know he’s finally home.

Walker is a giant goofball with a heart even bigger than his waistline. Are you ready to help this big boy start his fitness journey and fill your home with hound-sized love?

As with all our residents, we recommend slow introductions to existing pets and family members. Since Walker lived with a dog previously, he may enjoy a furry sibling!

Walker is neutered and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.

If you are interested in adopting Walker, reach out to us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org. You can also call to make an appointment or feel free to take a peek during our open hours!
