My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Little Girl! 🐾🖤
Little Girl is a 2-year-old female black cat with a gentle, sweet heart and a shy, nervous nature. She can be a bit cautious at first, but with patience and a calm environment, her loving personality begins to shine.

Little Girl enjoys quiet companionship, soft voices, and gentle pets once she feels safe. She would do best in a peaceful, patient home where she’s given the time and space she needs to build trust and confidence at her own pace.

Little Girl is ready for her forever home—a kind, understanding family who will offer her love, reassurance, and a safe place to call her own. With her sweet nature and soft purrs, Little Girl is sure to blossom into a devoted, loving companion. 🐱🖤

You can view our available animals online or by visiting the shelter during regular business hours. Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff are here to guide you through the adoption process, which includes completing an application and having a conversation to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared to welcome a new pet into your home.

If you find an animal on our website that you’re interested in, we kindly ask that you visit the shelter to meet them in person before submitting your application. This helps ensure the best possible match for both you and the animal.

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
