Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jakey - A Quiet Soul Looking for a Safe Place to Land
Jakey is a 1½-year-old, neutered male with an adoption fee of $145, and he’s one of those cats whose story makes you want to scoop him up and promise him the peaceful life he deserves. He was rescued by a kind Samaritan after showing up at a feeder station — friendly, sweet, and clearly out of place among the outdoor cats. It’s very likely he once belonged to someone.
Jakey is shy, unsure, and overwhelmed in the shelter environment. He may hiss, but it’s all fear, not aggression. This boy wouldn’t hurt a flea. When he’s scared, he simply bows down and tries to make himself small, waiting for a moment when he can feel safe again.
Jakey needs a quiet, predictable home: Loud noises and chaos are too much for him.
A small starter room: A cozy space where he can decompress and slowly build trust.
No dogs, cats, or kids: He needs to be the only pet in a calm household.
A patient, gentle adopter: Someone who understands that shy cats bloom slowly and beautifully.
A safe place to call home: He’s hoping for a person who will let him come out of his shell on his own timeline.
Jakey isn’t the cat who will run to greet you on day one. But he is the cat who will reward patience with quiet loyalty, soft moments, and the deep bond that only a once-scared cat can give. For the right person, he will be a treasure.
Walk-in hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - 12:00–4:00 PM
If those times don’t work, simply fill out the Adoption Inquiry Form on our website under the FORMS tab, and we’ll gladly arrange a meet-and-greet that fits your schedule.
