This little cutie is Bruno. He was born around 11/21/2025. His mom, Bella looks like a Terrier mix with maybe some Chihuahua and is around 10 lbs. We don't know who his daddy is but expect Bruno to be under 25 lbs full grown. Bruno is a sweet, playful boy who loves people and playing with his siblings. Given his age and the cold weather he has not started on housebreaking yet. The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.
Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
