Tom is a tiny dog who has had to be very brave in a very big, unfamiliar world. This three-year-old, 14-pound Chihuahua mix came to us from a homeless situation, having never known the basics many dogs take for granted, no leash walks, no vet visits, no sense of routine or safety. It’s no wonder that when Tom feels scared, he may act a bit defensive; it’s simply how he learned to protect himself.
Underneath that uncertainty is a dog with so much potential. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Tom will begin to understand that hands can be gentle, walks can be fun, and life can be predictable and safe. Once that happens, his true personality will start to shine.
Tom is looking for an experienced, understanding home, one that knows how rewarding it is to help a shy dog find his confidence. His adoption fee of $250 includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Tom, call 602-971-1334 or visit Thursday–Saturday, 11:00 am–4:00 pm

Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

More about this rescue
Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
