My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Violet 🌸🐾

Violet is a beautiful, gentle girl who we believe is around three years old. She came to us as a stray alongside another dog we think may be her sister, so her past is a bit of a mystery—but her sweet nature is already shining through.

Right now, Violet is on the shy side, which is completely understandable. Even so, she’s incredibly soft-hearted and kind, and she happily allows you to pet her. With a little time, patience, and love, we’re confident this lovely girl will blossom and come out of her shell.

Violet is not yet leash trained, but we’ll be working with her and will keep everyone updated on her progress. She’s the kind of dog who just needs a calm, loving environment to feel safe—and once she does, we know she’ll make a wonderful, loyal companion.

If you have room in your heart (and home) for a sweet soul who’s ready to start a new chapter, Violet could be your girl 💜🐶

More about this rescue

The mission of the Raise the Bar-N Foundation is to rescue, care for, and provide compassion to abused and neglected animals, educate the community about responsible pet ownership, and provide opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. We strive to give the voiceless a voice.

My husband and I have been rescuing for years. We also do a great deal with the autism/special needs community. We are hoping to save more animals and help build bonds between animals and children with disabilities. My husband is a firefighter and ex-professional hockey player. I am an expert working with children with disabilities, especially autism. I am passionate about giving the voiceless a "voice".
