My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on February 12, 2025.

Why Cabo might be the one for you:
Meet Cabo, a sweet and gentle pup in search of a loving new home! Cabo came to us fearful and worried about the world around him. He has been working with our trainers and it has been a joy to watch him gain confidence and trust people. With a patient, calm approach, Cabo shares his playful and affectionate side - enjoying pets and attention from his trusted companions. He's a smart cookie and has learned many skills in our care including basic commands, fun enrichment games, leash walking and more. Cabo will thrive best with an understanding adopter who can continue his positive reinforcement training and allow him to open up at his pace. He may do well in a home with another mellow, friendly dog who can be a role model. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a wonderful work in progress, come meet Cabo today!

At SDHS:
Cabo has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Cabo is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
