My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

  Shasha

Age: 4 years

Sex: Female (Spayed)

Breed: Husky × Jindo mix

Color: White, brown & beige

Weight: 19 kg

Rescue Story

Shasha was found wandering along a roadside in June 2025 with no collar or leash and was brought into a municipal shelter. Despite being abandoned, she has remained incredibly loving, trusting, and open-hearted toward people and other animals.

‍‍ With People

Shasha is one of those rare dogs who seems to love everyone.

• Extremely friendly with both familiar and new people

• Gently approaches strangers, rubs against them, and happily accepts touch

• Very good with children under 13

• Can be lifted by supporting her belly

• Once bonded, she shows her belly and enjoys affection

• Loves people but keeps polite boundaries — she does not jump, paw, or cling

Even in elevators or unfamiliar spaces, Shasha sits calmly beside her foster and waits patiently.

With Dogs & Cats

Shasha is wonderfully social and respectful.

• Greets both familiar and new dogs happily and invites them to play

• Even if another dog is rude, she chooses to avoid conflict

• Has been living with three cats for the past 3 months and does beautifully

• Curious about cats outside, but follows her handler without pulling or chasing

At Home

• Medium energy — enjoys going out and then relaxes peacefully

• Mostly outdoor potty

• Rarely barks

• Calm in a kennel

• Gets in and out of the car by herself

• No separation anxiety — naps with the cats when alone

• Does not destroy household items

Sometimes she gently carries a plush toy to her bed and chews it happily — that’s about as naughty as she gets.

On Walks

Shasha gets excited for the first 5 minutes and walks briskly, but she listens very well.

• Responds to “wait” and “sit”

• Stops calmly when people, dogs, or cars pass

• Walks nicely with guidance

Food & Manners

• Loves food and finishes meals quickly

• Never guards food from people or cats

• Calm and polite even when others pass nearby

Personality

Shasha is gentle, sweet, joyful, and emotionally balanced.

She is the kind of dog that receives compliments everywhere she goes.

She would be perfect for:

First-time dog owners

Families with children

Homes with other dogs or cats

Anyone looking for a loving, easy-going companion

Shasha truly fits into any kind of home — only one thing matters to her: being loved.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
