My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kelly Belly, a gorgeous young soul whose beauty is matched only by her unwavering loyalty. A quiet and gentle spirit, Kelly thrives in a world of routine and stability, where she can blossom under the guidance of calm, patient hands. She is a sweet, cuddly companion who asks for nothing more than to feel safe and cherished. Because she is a sensitive girl who can be wary of fast movements, she is looking for an adult-only home or a peaceful environment without young children, where she can engage with her family on her own terms.

Kelly’s heart is biggest when she is around her "pack." She truly shines in the company of other dogs and would love a home with a confident fur sibling to help her feel secure. Her past has left her with a touch of separation anxiety; she remembers what it feels like to be left behind and never wants to feel forgotten again. For this reason, she prefers a home where her people are around often and where she isn't the only pet. Because she can be vocal when she’s missing her humans, a house rather than an apartment would be the best fit for her to express herself comfortably.

While she is calm indoors, Kelly has a playful, curious side. she is a "professional shredder" who finds great joy in deconstructing soft toys, so a steady supply of tough chews and bones is a must! She is incredibly intelligent and a fast learner; she is already house-trained and is making great progress with crate training, especially when her foster sibling is nearby for moral support. She’s even shown a polite curiosity toward cats, making her a great candidate for a home with dog-savvy feline friends.

To know Kelly Belly is to have a shadow for life. She is a strong, resilient, and deeply loving dog who simply wants to settle into a forever home where she can finally relax. If you can provide a stable environment and a heart full of love, Kelly will repay you with a lifetime of devotion. She isn't just looking for a house; she’s looking for the safe harbor she’s always deserved. 🖤
