My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Why did the Chicken cross the road?

To get to SNIPSA on the other side!

This Chicken was forced to flee her coop with her sister, Gidget, after she lost her owner. With the help of a few concerned neighbors and a rescue team, she made her way to us for a second chance at life.

Chicken is shy, but warming up oh so quickly in her foster home. She is a true testament to the way animals can still find trust in humans, even after abandonment. This girl loves hugs and is a total lap dog. She is curious and will follow you around at a cautious distance, but she is quickly closing the gap to become the Velcro dog of anyone’s dreams.

Chicken is in need of some medical care, but SNIPSA is devoted to helping her recover from past neglect. She is receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, and we are evaluating a significant heart murmur. We are hoping that soon, she will regain good health and find unbridled happiness in a good home.

So, will you share your heart with someone who really needs one? Apply today and make Chicken the cluckiest girl in town!!

More about this rescue

SNIPSA is an organization formed by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted animals in San Antonio and the surrounding area. SNIPSA does not have a standing shelter and depends on a core of volunteers to foster and rehabilitate animals in their homes. This provides us with the opportunity to learn first hand about the animal’s needs and behavior in order to facilitate an appropriate adoption. SNIPSA was incorporated in 2005 and has re-homed more than 3000 animals.
