Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
This helps Animal Care Centers of NYC | Manhattan with pet care costs.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!
Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!
I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!
I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!
Sheba is a social cat and solicits attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may take extra time to warm up to her new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.
Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior.
A volunteer writes: Sheba is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. She is a beautiful, fluffy, black cat who lost her home when her owner was no longer able to care for her. She is 13 years young and you would never know that she is a senior because she has so much love to give, and honestly can be a bit energetic at sometimes. She is ready to hit the town. She wants to explore the room. The petting I had to give her never seemed to be enough in that she was always seeking more, and I absolutely love that she was so incredibly loving towards me, leaning her head into my hand. I cannot wait to find this girl the perfect home.
