Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hamster (Ham) loves nothing more than affection from people. She will weave around
your ankles until you greet her in the morning with body rubs and Chin scratches. An easy way to win her heart is with treats; her absolute favorite—Churu treats.
Sometimes during the day she may be wary of you but as soon as you pet her it jogs
her memory and she remembers how much she likes you. She warms up to strangers
quickly as long as there is someone around that she trusts. She is very brave and curious. She had no problem using the Litter Robot, the problem
was every time it would cycle she would run over to it and peek in triggering the safety feature and it would stop! Goofy girl! Also, the robot vacuum did not scare her but she would watch it from a chair.
She has the energy and playfulness of a kitten. She would fit in well in a home that can offer
lots of interactive enrichment, attention, and gentle guidance. Ham has lived with other cats and would likely do well with a feline friend with slow and
proper introductions.
All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped.

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue
Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
