Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lurleen — a sweet, snuggly Corgi girl discovering what love and safety feel like 🐶💖
Lurleen is a 7-month-old Corgi who came to NTASR from a puppy mill situation. Because of that rough start, the world is still a little big and new to her — but every day, she’s learning that life can be kind, cozy, and full of love.
Once Lurleen feels safe, her true personality shines. She’s incredibly affectionate, super snuggly, and happiest right by her people’s side.
She walks on leash, is crate trained, is almost fully potty trained, and does great with other dogs. She’s still learning leash manners, but does wonderfully following along behind her foster sibling — having a confident dog buddy really helps her feel brave!
Lurleen tends to feel more comfortable around women and takes a little extra time to build trust with men, but with patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement, her confidence continues to grow.
At night, she sleeps peacefully in her crate (especially when it’s in the same room as her humans). During the day, her playful side comes out — she loves toys, steals socks like a pro, and is hilariously obsessed with watching TV (yes, she actually watches it 📺😂).
Lurleen is adventurous, curious, goofy, playful, independent, and incredibly loving — a wonderful little pup who just needs a family willing to move at her pace and celebrate her wins.
With time, consistency, and lots of cuddles, Lurleen is going to be the most loyal, loving companion. 💛
