Meet Tonka

Tonka is an adorable little shepherd mix with the most striking blue eyes and a face that will absolutely steal your heart. At approximately 10 weeks old and around 16 pounds, Tonka is an outgoing, happy puppy who is having a blast in her foster home.

She loves meeting other dogs, enjoys being spoiled, and greets each day with enthusiasm and joy. Tonka is a big snuggler who balances her playful energy with plenty of cuddle time. She’s also a smart girl who learns quickly and is eager to explore the world around her.

She loves her toys and does a great job keeping herself entertained, but her favorite place to be is outside playing in the yard. If you’re looking for a fun, social puppy with beauty, brains, and a loving personality, Tonka is the one for you.

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

We have weekly adoption events at PetsMart every Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Eastgate Square Shopping Center, Rt. 38, Moorestown, NJ and PetsMart, 62 Centerton Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
