I can be shy and scared at first in the shelter, but give me just a couple of minutes, some treats, and gentle head scratches—and I’ll be purring away, soaking up all the love you’re offering. I’m a friendly, quiet, and respectful kitty who truly appreciates affection. I love being petted (honestly, all the time), and when I’ve had enough, I’ll simply curl up and take a nap. I enjoy being picked up when I’m in the mood, and I get along well with children—I’m relaxed, friendly, and affectionate around them. I’ve lived happily indoors my whole life and have done well with another cat, even sharing naps and grooming time with a kitten companion. I’m not demanding or wild; I’m just looking for a calm, loving family who will cherish me for who I am and give me the security I deserve. The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
