Hi! My name is Gravy and here is a little more about me :
My Journey I was found as a stray alongside my brother (Gravy). A kind woman made sure we were safe by boarding us with a veterinarian before bringing us to Smittens Rescue, where we’re now learning what indoor life is all about.
My Social Life I’m shy at first and appreciate slow, gentle introductions. With a few pets—and maybe a Churu or two—I quickly start to relax and show my adventurous side. Having my brother nearby gives me extra confidence and helps me feel brave in new situations.
My Personality I’m a shy but curious kitty who blossoms with patience, treats, and a soft voice. When my brother is around, I become much more confident and outgoing. Once I’m comfortable, I turn into a surprisingly chatty little lady who loves to “talk” to her people and let them know what’s on my mind.
I Enjoy… Mealtime (and announcing when I’m hungry) Playing tag and chasing my brother around Catnip mice—my absolute favorite toy
I’m Not a Fan Of… Loud noises can still spook me. I enjoy pets but am not quite ready for belly rubs, and I’m still adjusting to being picked up. With time, patience, and trust, I continue to make progress every day.
What Makes Me Special I have a loud, boisterous meow that I use when I want attention—or food! I make sure everyone in the house knows exactly how I’m feeling.
My Perfect Home I would do best in a quiet, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace. Having a sibling (especially my brother!) helps me feel more secure in new environments. A loving family with toys, gentle voices, and a little patience will get to watch my personality fully come to life.

More about this rescue
Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
