My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Reba’s life didn’t start the way it should have. She, along with her sister Funny Girl, was rescued from a boarded-up, neglected home where more than 100 dogs were living in darkness. Though her world was incredibly limited, Reba held onto her gentle spirit — and now she’s ready to discover what real love, comfort, and safety feel like.

Reba is a sweet, quiet girl who truly blossoms in calm environments. She loves having a safe, cozy spot of her own and enjoys gentle affection — especially when her foster sits on the floor with her and offers soft pets. She’s friendly and trusting with people, suggesting she had some positive human interaction early on, and she’s already shown how much love she has to give.

In her foster home, Reba lives with four other dogs and seems comfortable around them, though interactions have been limited so far. While she walks nicely on a leash, she can feel unsure when encountering unfamiliar dogs outside and may freeze — completely understandable for a pup who is still learning about the world. With patience, reassurance, and continued exposure, Reba’s confidence is expected to grow. She sleeps through the night and has an energy level that’s just right — calm but curious (Energy Level: 3/5).

Reba is not yet housebroken and will need a patient adopter who understands that learning takes time. Because of her background, she would do best in a home with older children or adults who can provide a peaceful, supportive environment where she can continue to heal and thrive.

Reba is:

  • Up to date on vaccines

  • Treated for puppy/kitten parasites

  • Michochipped

  • Fixed

  • Adoption fee: $450

Reba’s past does not define her future. She’s ready for a loving home that will move at her pace, celebrate her small victories, and show her the kindness she’s waited so long to find. If you’re looking for a tender soul to grow with, Reba may be your perfect match

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training  prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
