Sprite is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on September 17, 2025 after she had been abandoned on Oakwood Avenue in Marietta Ohio. Spite was a tiny 8-week old baby who weighed just 1 lb. She was a sick little girl in desperate need of medical care. Sprite was extremely malnourished and anemic due to a flea infestation .. But she came to the right place and our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs quickly began to help her on the road to recovery.
Sprite has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.
Within a couple of weeks, Sprite was already looking (and feeling) much better after receiving antibiotics. She was beginning to appreciate attention from kennel techs and volunteers. Sprite began to love to sit on your shoulders or snuggle in your arms.
Sprite was given first vaccinations on October 2, 2025 and was given booster vaccines on October 18th- and November 10th 2025. She has been given Pyrantel and Drontal wormer.
Thanks to HSOV Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton, these 'big girl' photos of Sprite were taken on January 31, 2025 when Lauryn spent time with Sprite in our 'studio'. Sprite was a little more interested in pussyfooting around and playing with toys instead of posing for boring still-life pictures .. And we totally understood that she wanted to enjoy her out-of-cage time to the fullest.
Sprite will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on February 9th 2026) and will soon be ready to find her dream home.
