Torro is a big, happy Alaskan Husky mix with joy written all over him. Running is his love language, and playtime is where his personality really shines—especially when his goofy, derpy side makes an appearance. (Fair warning: it’s extremely endearing.) He’s shown interest in other dogs and could enjoy a canine buddy, but a meet-and-greet would be the best way to make sure it’s a good match. Torro would thrive in a home that enjoys staying active and doesn’t mind a little silliness mixed into the routine. Fun fact: Torro can go from majestic husky to total goofball in about three seconds flat.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
