Meet Frito — the tiny sidekick with a BIG heart 💛🐾
This adorable 2-year-old, 12-pound Chiweenie is equal parts cuddle bug and playful explorer. Frito is happiest when he’s close to his people — preferably curled up in your lap or snoozing beside you in bed. Bonus: he fully supports sleeping in and believes mornings should start slow and snuggly.
When he’s not in cuddle mode, Frito loves stretching his little legs on walks and zooming around the yard. He’s a big fan of walks because they let him explore the world like the brave adventurer he thinks he is.
Frito’s Personality Highlights:

💞 Total lap dog — thrives on love and attention
🍼 Big baby energy — sweet, sensitive, and not aggressive at all

Frito isn’t fully house trained yet, but he really wants to make his people happy and responds well to consistent, kind guidance. With regular morning and evening walks, he does great — though in a home with other dogs, he may try to mark at first and will just need a little training and supervision. He listens well when corrected and is a quick learner.
One quirky thing? He’s not a fan of car rides… but he actually behaves very nicely during them. He just prefers to arrive at the destination already, thank you very much.

More about this rescue
We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.
Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.
