My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arlo

12 weeks, neutered male, 5 lbs

Chihuahua mix

Arlo is so tiny, but has a huge heart, (and even wears one on his head)! He likes to chase his balls rolling on the floor, and chew his toys, but as soon as you sit down, he will want to be on your lap, and he likes to be close to you. He loves to be in your arms as you walk around, but gets startles easily and has a penchant for being dramatic.

He needs continued socialization and exposure to regular activities so that he can be "chill" when being with you while going about daily activities. As with all puppies, training classes would be good for Arlo so that he can continue socialization with dogs and other people.

Arlo is looking for someone who wants to spend all of their time with him, and he especially loves to sleep under covers at your feet or stretched across your chest/neck like a warm pack just out of the microwave.

He is not much of a barker, but he whines and screams dramatically if your foot so much as brushes up against him. Any fall or even a slip in the tub can induce wailing and crying. But after a few seconds he realizes he is Ok, and his tail begins wagging again.

Arlo is no fully vaccinated yet and not leash trained. He has been using potty pads in an X-pen in his foster home.

To further inquire about ARLO, submit an application.

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how ARLO will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.

Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.

We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for ARLO as well as his future family.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an online application, submitted via our website. We do not guarantee a response, but will reach out if we think that it's a good fit and then arrange for a meet and greet. We do not hold dogs for more than 48 hours for a meet and greet, and if the dog is scheduled to go to an adoption event it will not be held back. We do not transport dogs out of area. We do same-day adoptions at our meet and greet appointments and adoption events. We offer a one-week trial period to our adopters to make sure that things work out, and we encourage adopters to be familiar with the 3-3-3 rule for dogs. We also highly encourage puppy classes for our puppies, as training is very important in ensuring that dogs stay in their forever homes.
