My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petunia came to us from a home where the owners were elderly and not able to take care of the dogs' basic needs. There were 6 total.

She is estimated to be about 18 months old. She is housetrained and crate trained and great with other dogs. She is still nervous when meeting new people (as most of these dogs are). She lived with many other dogs previously, and because we want to keep her confidence growing, we would like for her to go to a home with another dog.

She is learning to walk on the leash, but that was totally foreign to her previously, so she will need continued leash training.

Petunia is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. She is fostered in Sarasota and her adoption fee is $400.

If you are interested in meeting her, please complete an adoption application at https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt.

If you have applied with us previously, please send an email to Info@Love4PawsFL.org.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
