🌿 Meet Boston — A Brave Little Soul Ready to Heal 🌿
At just 6 months old and 17 lbs, Boston carries a story on his body that he’s never been able to tell. 😥 His foster describes him as a pup who looks like he’s lived a very sad life so far — a life that left him with scars, marks, and the quiet, cautious way of a dog who may have spent far too much time confined and forgotten.
But here’s the part that matters most 🫶, thanks to OFR, Boston is safe now. He’s learning. He’s trying. And he wants so badly to trust.
💛 Who Boston Is Today
• A gentle, sensitive puppy who watches the world carefully, taking it in at his own pace.
• A survivor with no medical issues — just emotional healing ahead. 🙏
• A small boy with a big heart, slowly discovering soft beds, kind hands, and the feeling of being wanted. 🥰
• Sweet and relaxed around food, toys, and bones — he’ll happily give them up without a fuss.
• Respectful and friendly with other dogs, and calm around cats.
• Wonderful with kids and gentle in his interactions.💙
🌱 Where He’s Still Learning
Boston’s past shows up in small ways as he adjusts to real life.
• He has consistent accidents and will need patient, positive potty training support.
• His foster has been gently introducing the crate during mealtimes and short routines like showering, and he’s been calm, quiet, and becoming comfortable with it.
• He doesn’t destroy things, but he does struggle with the world outside and currently hates going outdoors.
• He may develop some separation anxiety as he bonds, so a calm, understanding adopter will make all the difference.
• Boston can be shy when new people walk through the door, but he warms up VERY quickly you’ll wonder how he was ever nervous at all. He is a HUGE cuddle bug!
🌤 The Home Boston Needs
Boston isn’t a “ready-made” dog — he’s a tender work-in-progress. 😇 He will thrive in any environment as long as his people are patient, compassionate, and willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe. With consistency and kindness, he’ll continue to unfold into the dog he was always meant to be. 😍
His foster sees the spark in him — the quiet bravery, the sweetness under the fear, the way he leans into safety even when he’s not sure how. Boston is the kind of dog who will bond deeply once he knows he’s home. 💞
✨ If you’ve ever wanted to change a life in the most meaningful way, Boston is waiting for you. He’s ready for his second chance — he just needs someone who believes in him.

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
