My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Jagger,

Male - neutered
Shepherd x Chow-Chow mix
Approx. 6 years old

I'm an enthusiastic, fluffy boy with a heart full of love just waiting to share with you. When I meet new people, I can't help but get excited-I'm definitely a friendly soul! While I enjoy toys, my true love is food. I absolutely adore indulging in delicious treats, and food is definitely my love language.

Although I'm not overly interested in toys, I'm highly motivated by treats, people, and positive praise. I'm proud to say that I already know how to sit! I think that deserves a few extra treats, don't you? My leash manners could use a little work, and while I sometimes find it challenging to focus during training, I promise to give it my best shot!

As I grow older, I've become a bit sensitive in certain areas, but I always strive to be the good boy you can rely on.

I would thrive best in a relaxed home environment where I can soak up all the love and attention. I enjoy being the center of your world, so I prefer a home without other animals. I can be a bit selective with my doggy pals and, honestly, I'm not a fan of feline friends.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who loves cuddles & tasty treats, I might just be the perfect match for you.

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.

More about this shelter

Pet licensing

Pet licenses aid in the fast return of a lost pet to its owner. They provide an immediate visual clue to anyone who finds the pet, which often results in the pet not having to be brought into an animal shelter.
