My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zelda — your house’s resident parkour champion and part-time love sponge.
Zelda doesn’t so much walk through a room as she teleports. One second she’s on the floor, the next she’s halfway up the cat tree, and then—somehow—she’s in a cupboard you didn’t even know opened… eight feet off the ground.

She’s wildly athletic, endlessly curious, and fully committed to exploring every vertical surface your home has to offer. Sometimes her launches are… ambitious. Occasionally gravity wins. But Zelda handles it with dignity and lets you clean up the aftermath like the benevolent chaos queen she is.

And here’s the twist: for all her superhero energy, Zelda is deeply sweet. She will pause mid-mission for a proper cuddle, lean in, melt into you for a minute… and then boom—back to play like she’s clocking in for her second shift.

Zelda’s highlights:
    •    Olympic-level climber & cat-tree enthusiast
    •    Cupboard explorer (yes, even the high ones)
    •    Fast, funny, and fearless
    •    Sweet cuddle breaks on demand
    •    Ready for playtime and affection in equal measure

Ideal home: one that appreciates a playful, athletic cat, has a sturdy cat tree, and doesn’t mind the occasional “gravity experiment.” Zelda will keep you laughing, keep you company, and keep your cupboards on their toes.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
