Graycie is a sweet 7-month-old kitten with a heart full of love and a story that makes her even more special. She arrived at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions on February 4th as part of a special transfer from Southern California, thanks to our wonderful friends at The Purrty Pals. 💙
Graycie and her sister Marble are two of four siblings rescued from a shopping strip in La Puente, Los Angeles. A kind community member noticed the kittens living outdoors in extreme summer heat—over 95 degrees—with severe eye and nose infections. They urgently needed help. With teamwork between the nail salon owner who cared for the colony, The Purrty Pals, and the city of La Puente, all four kittens and their mom were safely rescued. Mom was spayed through a TNR program, and the kittens received the medical care they desperately needed.
Graycie came into foster care at just 4–5 weeks old and was truly a little fighter. Thanks to dedicated fostering (including time in a home with children and other cats), she grew into the loving, confident kitten she is today.
Personality-wise, Graycie is the calmer of the two sisters. She’s a total lap cat, adores being held, and is not shy with people at all. She’s playful, affectionate, and especially wonderful with children—even young ones ages 3+. While she may hiss at new cats at first, she does adjust and can happily cohabitate once she’s had time to settle in. (She hasn’t met dogs yet.)
Graycie would love to be adopted with her sister Marble—or into a home with another friendly cat—so she can continue to thrive with feline companionship and lots of love.
💙 Huge thanks to our partners who made this rescue possible:
- Frost Fund
- The Purrty Pals
- Riverside County Department of Animal Services
Give Graycie the loving home she deserves—and if you’re ready for double the joy, consider adopting her with Marble. These girls are incredibly special, and their best chapter is just beginning. 💛🐾

More about this shelter
Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cats and people in our community. We provide counseling, information, and resources to empower people to support their cats and others in the community. If cats cannot stay with their families or neighborhoods, we prioritize our intake on cats most at risk - cats in need of rehoming; kittens who need specialized care; and cats who have been abandoned, are sick or injured, or are not thriving in the community. We are committed to ensuring the highest level of attention and care for cats in our adoption program and provide a modern, free-roaming adoption center to minimize stress, serve the individual needs of each cat, and set up both cats and adopters for success.
