Bit About Me

Are you ready to meet a gorgeous young kitty? Someone who may not be the life of the party, but will certainly be a loving and devoted friend for life? Meet our shy little gem, Dory. It took Dory time to adjust to the shelter, but day by day we see more little hand nuzzles and purrs. She is a sweetheart, but she needs a soft voice, slow approach, and a gentle touch--then you can see her personality shine! This girl is also playful (wand toys help build her confidence). She came in with 2 other cats and is looking for a quiet home with a patient, cat-experienced guardian. She may need a little time to warm up, but she is so worth the wait!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
