Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rosa is a 5 month old, cuddly and playful kitten looking for her forever home!
This lovely cream-colored cloud firmly believes that personal space is optional and people are for loving—if you sit down, don’t be surprised if Rosa is right there with you. She loves to follow her people from room to room and will happily keep you company all day. This girl is a perfect work from home buddy!
Rosa is also quite the chatterbox! She’s recently discovered her voice and enjoys trilling and talking to you, just because she’s happy you’re around. It’s impossibly cute and very endearing. While Rosa is usually very tolerant of handling and affection, she does have a little spunky side and will let it be known if she needs a break—but overall, she’s very patient and people-oriented.
This pretty gal is playful, curious, and loves both interactive play with her humans and entertaining herself. You will often find her playing with a mouse toy or zooming around the house playing tag with whatever other cat she is around.
Like any kitten, she has a mischievous fondness for stealing little things (like hair ties) and investigating houseplants—but it only adds to her charm. (Because of this, her forever family should make sure to have only cat-safe or artificial plants in the home.) Rosa is medium-high energy.
She tends to nap during working hours but loves to play when her humans get home. If no one is around for interactive play, she is happy to entertain herself by playing or exploring. When a human is nearby, she loves to be involved in their activity, talk to them, and follow them from room to room. She is very rarely disruptive during nighttime or early morning.
Rosa currently lives in an apartment with two humans and one 1.5-year-old male cat whom she likes to play and talk with (although they aren't yet at the “groom-and-cuddle/besties” stage).
One of Rosa’s humans works from home occasionally, but generally Rosa spends working hours sleeping, ready to play and cuddle when the humans arrive.
This sweetheart is so lovable and cuddly that she can happily live almost anywhere. Because she loves people so much, Rosa would especially love to be in a household with people who work from home or a family home where people are around a lot. (She’d do best with gentle children who understand and respect kitty boundaries).
Because of her age, Rosa will need to go to a home with another Pet Haven kitten, or another active young resident cat to show her the ropes.
Rosa was found in a UHAUL box left in front of St. Paul animal control, infested with fleas and no info on where she came from. Despite this rough start, she is such a cuddly and energetic kitty, which shows her truly sweet and happy nature.
This girl is sweet, silly, and endlessly lovable, and she’s ready to bring joy (and cuddles) to her forever home. Could that be with you?

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
