My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Hawk was brought in by their previous owner on February 5, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Hawk! Hawk is a sweet, wiggly girl with a happy bounce in her step and energy to spare, making friends wherever she goes! She's friendly, playful and always ready to turn an ordinary moment into a mini party. Toys, games, and zoomies are right up her alley. Hawk prefers to keep her snacks to herself and would do best as the only dog in the home, where she doesn't have to share food or treats. She also has a firm 'no thank you' policy when it comes to paw handling, so she'll need humans who respect her boundaries. With all that energy and personality, Hawk is ready to bring fun and bounces to a home that's ready for her.

At SDHS:
Hawk has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Hawk is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
