My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lionel

Introducing Lionel — a strikingly handsome 2-year-old chocolate Pit mix who is ready to find his forever home.

Lionel is an athletic, confident boy with a strong build and a joyful zest for life. He’s energetic, loves staying active, and would thrive with an adopter who enjoys walks, playtime, and engaging one-on-one with their dog. Beneath that muscular frame is a sweet, eager-to-please personality that simply wants guidance, consistency, and affection.

He’s the kind of dog who will proudly walk by your side, turn heads wherever he goes, and form a deep, loyal bond with his people. With the right home and routine, Lionel will make an incredible companion.

If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and devoted dog to add to your family, Lionel may be your perfect match.

More about this rescue

Welcome to Murray County Humane Society!

Murray County Humane Society is a 100% volunteer-run, GA-licensed 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue based in rural North Georgia. Our mission is to provide second chances to animals in need by assisting with owner surrenders and rescuing shelter pets that might otherwise face euthanasia.

Every animal in our care receives essential veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services before being matched with a loving, qualified family. Through compassion, dedication, and community support, we work to give each animal the opportunity to live a safe and happy life.
