Hi! My name is Eddie and here is a little more about me :
My Journey I came into foster care after developing some cage-related injuries, including a small trauma on the bridge of my nose and a damaged claw. These were addressed right away, and I’ve been healing nicely in a calmer environment where I can feel safe and comfortable again. Being out of the stressful cage setting has made a big difference for me, and I’m already showing my true, friendly self.
My Social Life I’m a very people-friendly guy and enjoy being handled and held. I’ve shown calm, tolerant behavior around other cats so far. When introduced to another cat who hissed at me, I didn’t react at all, which suggests I could do well with other feline companions given proper, slow introductions. I’m still learning the rules of patience when I want something (like getting out of my cage!), but overall I’m an easygoing boy.
My Personality I’m affectionate, social, and confident with people. I like interaction and don’t mind being picked up or cuddled. I did get a little nippy once when I was frustrated about staying in my cage, but it was situational and understandable — once my needs are met, I’m sweet and cooperative. I’m eager for attention and happy to engage with the humans around me.
I Enjoy… Being held and spending time with people Wet food (a big favorite of mine!) Gentle handling and attention A calm environment where I can move freely
I’m Not a Fan Of… Being confined for too long or feeling frustrated when I can’t get where I want to go. With enrichment, patience, and a more open living space, I do just fine.
What Makes Me Special I’m a resilient, loving boy who bounced back quickly once I was given a chance to decompress. My friendly nature, easy handling, and calm response to other cats show what a great companion I can be.
My Perfect Home I would do best in a home where I’m given space to move around, lots of human interaction, and regular mealtimes (especially if wet food is involved!). A home with other cats could be a good fit with slow introductions. I’m ready for a family who appreciates a social, affectionate cat and understands that a little patience goes a long way.

More about this rescue
Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
