My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bugsey, Also Known as Queso
Bugsey, affectionately called Queso, is a charming senior Chihuahua looking for a loving forever home. At 12 years old, he’s a wise soul weighing in at just 10 pounds. Unfortunately, Bugsey lost his home when his owner was deported, leaving him in need of a new family to call his own.
About Bugsey
Despite his recent challenges, Bugsey is a resilient little dog with a heart full of love. He is friendly with dogs, cats, and even children, although due to his sore ribs, it’s best if he’s not around very small kids who might inadvertently handle him too roughly.
Health and Temperament
Age: 12 years old
Weight: 10 lb
Health: Neutered, all vaccines up to date, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Temperament: Dog, kid, and cat-friendly
Skills: Walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is potty trained.
Bugsey is healing from sore ribs, an injury sustained during the upheaval in his life. While he’s on the mend, he requires a little extra care and comfort. His gentle nature and adaptability make him an ideal companion for a calm and loving household.
Helping Bugsey Find a Home
As a senior dog, Bugsey deserves to spend his golden years in a caring and supportive environment. We are reaching out to compassionate individuals who might be able to help cover part of his adoption and travel fees. Every contribution can make a significant difference in ensuring Bugsey finds the perfect home as quickly as possible.
How You Can Help
Donations: Any amount helps! Donations will go towards covering Bugsey’s adoption and travel expenses.
Spread the Word: Share Bugsey’s story with friends, family, and on social media to help him find his forever home.
Adopt Bugsey: If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal companion, consider opening your heart and home to this sweet senior Chihuahua.
With your support, Bugsey can find the love and comfort he so deserves. Let’s give this little guy a chance to enjoy his remaining years surrounded by warmth and affection.

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
