My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet miss Adahlia!!!

She is a 3 month old mixed breed who is up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micrcochipped and weighs a little over 12 pounds, as of her vet appointment. She was named by her foster’s  daughter after her favorite flower, a dahlia!

After a difficult start where her litter was being neglected, left outside in the cold, going unfed, Adahlia has bounced back quickly to be a human loving, cuddly, attentive, and perky best friend. With forehead wrinkles for days, lil ears that seem to wave hello as she bounces playfully, and a plump snout, you won’t be able to resist her.

Don’t let her serious face fool you, she is ready to play and has a tail that wags so enthusiastically it touches the sides of her tummy. She is pleasantly quiet, very gentle, curious, engages with strong eye contact, and is clearly wired for human companionship.

Her foster has a 4 year old human child and 2 large dogs, but she doesn’t overwhelm them like most puppies, and is very gentle, courteous and doesn’t push them to play. She’s a true gem!! It is believed she will be a large ro extra large sized dog, when she is fully grown.

Not cat tested, but no sign of prey drive, and with her naturally being well-mannered, we have a feeling she’d leave them alone or at least follow their queues.

Crate training is going great. Working on potty training. Natural on a leash so far. Learned come and sit easily, and is working on lay down among others. She is an eager student who aims to please and is both treat and praise motivated. She will do well in basic obedience classes we believe, which she must be signed up for before the adoption will be finalized.

Adahlia is ready to be your second shadow! Ready to meet this amazing little soul? Please fill out an application for her on our website: https://alternativehumanesociety.com/statement-of-interest-dog/
