My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tetley is an affectionate and attentive 3-month-old Shepherd mix who currently weighs 15 lbs, and based on her oversized paws, she still has plenty of growing to do! She’s the kind of puppy who bonds quickly and deeply, and she’s happiest when she’s close to her people.

Tetley loves everyone she meets and will very likely be a velcro pup. She adores cuddling and has fully embraced the idea that she’s a lap dog. She is quick to learn and has already been making great progress with basic commands such as sit and come. Tetley has also made encouraging strides with potty training in her foster home, though she will need continued, consistent training and must be signed up for basic obediance classes before her adoption will be finalized.

Tetley truly enjoys being outdoors and would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where she can safely explore. She makes a wonderful gardening buddy, happily lounging nearby while you work, and loves soaking up the sunshine whenever she gets the chance.

In her foster home, Tetley has shown herself to be polite and well-mannered with the resident cats, mostly ignoring them and taking cues appropriately. She was also introduced to free-range chickens and geese and showed very little interest in them, even while off leash. Tetley also lived with a 4-year-old child in her foster home, whom she absolutely adores, she is gentle, affectionate, and clearly enjoys being part of a family environment.

Tetley is eager to learn, enjoys gentle guidance, and would benefit from continued training to build confidence, especially as she works on being more comfortable when left alone. She has a veterinary appointment scheduled for Friday, February 13 where she will be brought up-to-dste on her shots, microchipped and dewormed. Her adopter will need to continue her puppy vaccination series and routine deworming as recommended by a veterinarian.

Tetley will love you wholeheartedly and is ready to give her whole heart to a forever family. If you think you could provide her with a loving home and commit to obedience classes, please visit the Alternative Humane Society website to fill out a statement of interest.

Tetley can’t wait to meet her new family!
