My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet River!!!
Our resident doodle who lives with all the pitties and may think he is one! River was found on the side of the road, was matted and sick with heartworms. We took him in, got him cleaned up and treated him for HW and he is now completely healthy!
River would love a home with your cats and even another dog. He is shy at first and has to get to know you. He needs a patient adopter that will allow him to settle in and come out of his shell. Once he trust you, he is committed to always being by your side.
We do not feel that River would do best in a home with young children only because fast movements tend to scare him. Older kids/teenagers are much better for him!
He is medium energy and LOVES snuggles and affection! He rides well in a car, walks well on a leash, loves being outside, will give hugs, but in a gentle way and does not mind being in a home with other dogs or cats!
Apply for River today and meet you new best friend!

More about this rescue

We are an animal welfare organization located in Shelby County, Alabama. Our mission is to rescue “priority” dogs (priority dogs are dogs who are at risk of euthanasia due to length of shelter stay, lack of interest from the public, behavioral issues, medical needs, and age) from overcrowded shelters to rehabilitate, rehome, shelter, and provide the love they deserve.
