My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rocko!
Rocko is a 5-month-old male pup who’s ready to find his forever family. Rocko had a rough start to life like a lot of rescue dogs. He was stuck in the shelter suffering from a horrible skin condition that left him balding and in pain. A Lab for Life foster could not let him stay there so she loaded Rocko up and got him on the road to healing and happiness! We’re so happy to report that Rocko’s hair has fully grown back and he’s perfectly healthy!

Rocko is crate trained, and already house trained using a doggie door—pretty impressive for such a young guy!

This playful boy is very treat-motivated, which makes him eager to learn and a great candidate for continued training. He loves playing and wrestling with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to romp around with. When he’s not playing, you’ll often find Rocko relaxing on his dog cot, happily chewing on his Benebones.

Rocko is an outdoor enthusiast who lives for chasing tennis balls and racquetballs and enjoys spending time outside. He does well riding in the car and is learning leash walking—he’s doing okay so far and will just need a little consistency and guidance to polish those skills.

With his fun-loving personality, sweet nature, and great foundation, Rocko is going to make an amazing companion for an active, loving home.

💙 Ready to meet your new best friend? Rocko can’t wait to meet you!

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
