My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winnebago’s world changed overnight when his family lost their home in a fire. Through no fault of his own, he suddenly needed a safe place to land and that’s how this sweet little guy found his way to us. At 4.5 years old and about 19 pounds, Winnebago is right in that perfect middle ground - past the chaos of puppyhood, but still full of life, curiosity, and affection.

Winnebago does have a history of urinary stones, which means he’ll need to stay on a special urinary diet for life and have routine veterinary monitoring to keep everything running smoothly. With proper care this is very manageable and aside from that, he’s an easy, happy dog who just wants to be loved!

What really stands out about Winnebago is his temperament. He’s one of those dogs who seems to fit wherever you put him. His previous owner described him as a genuinely good dog and we see it too. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, has lived peacefully with cats, and is comfortable around children and adults alike. He’s friendly, affectionate, and always happy to be part of whatever’s going on.

Winnebago is smart, adaptable, and deeply kind-hearted. He’s the type who will happily follow you from room to room, settle in nearby while you work or relax, and remind you that you’re never alone. After everything he’s been through, he’s handled change with grace and now he just needs a place where things can finally stay the same.

Winnebago is looking for stability, care, and a family who will love him the way he deserves. And in return he’ll give you loyalty, companionship, and a very good little buddy for life. Interested in giving Winnebago his fresh start? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
