Big Red was brought in by a community member on February 6, 2026.

Meet Big Red! Big Red is an independent spirit with a tail wag bigger than his whole body! He enjoys doing his own thing and exploring the world at his own pace, and he's perfectly happy for you to come along for the adventure. While he's not overly demanding of attention, he appreciates companionship and being near his people in his own easygoing way. Big Red came to us as a stray, so his history is a bit of a mystery-but he's ready to start his next chapter with someone who loves a loyal, low-key sidekick.

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
